Lately, there has been a lot of discussion around women embracing their feminine energy, and #LevelingUp. Specifically in the black woman sector of this world, a lot of us have made a conscious decision to define, enhance, and nurture our feminine energy so that we can live our best lives.

For a lot of women, they are on their feminine lifestyle journey, and they feel like they’ve heard all of the tips, tricks, and talking points on how to look and feel more feminine. But there are a few things that I’ve started doing that has really helped me to look and feel more feminine that I hadn’t heard anywhere else.

Without further ado:

My 4 Ways to Look and Feel More Feminine

1.Pull Your Hair Back

When someone thinks of a feminine woman, they often think of long, soft, flowing hair. A lot of us tend to forget that pulling your hair back off is the perfect way to show off some of your best feminine attributes. Pulling your hair back into a low bun, for example, allows you to show off your face, your neck and decolletage, or maybe just a beautiful pair of earrings.

bonus tip: To really up the dainty, feminine factor pull out a few tendrils to frame your face.

The smile is awkward, but the bun was on point! 🙂

2. Have Beautiful Handwriting and Write in Cursive More

Something else that is often overlooked as a way to enhance your femininity is your penmanship. I like to practice my penmanship, both manuscript and cursive, at least a few times a week. When I first started practicing my penmanship, I used practice books such as this one and this one. Having neat handwriting is something that a lot of people strive for, not just those seeking to level up their femininity. However writing in cursive, or adding a more calligraphy type of style to your handwriting is a great way add an unexpected flair to your feminine lifestyle.

While less than neat handwriting may not be a deal breaker, being able to give someone a beautifully handwritten note or thank you letter will definitely set you apart.

3.Correct Your Posture

If you grew up with a mother (and grandmother) like mine, then you’ve probably been lambasted about your posture your entire life. When I was younger, I thought that they were just being nit-picky. Now that I am older and learning to embrace my femininity I realize just how important proper posture is.

When you are standing up straight, you naturally exude a certain amount of confidence. It also helps your clothes to fall on your silhouette in the most flattering matter. My posture still isn’t where I would like it to be, but I try to make sure that at least a few times a week that I am performing things such as: back and core strength exercises, yoga, and old school posture correcting practices (like sitting with a book on my head).

Nothing says femininity like a long, graceful spine and neck

4.Accessorize with More than Typical Jewelry

We all know that a dainty necklace, and a beautiful set of earrings can really elevate an outfit and the feminine factor. But sometimes I think we ladies tend to forget just how beautiful and feminine other accessories can be.

Try to accessorize with a cute water bottle for the gym, a feminine headband or hair tie, cute sticky notes for work, or a very chic pen (for that beautiful handwriting of yours 😉 ). A cute pair of earring or bracelet will always be an outfit/confidence/femininity staple. But accessorizing with other (less thought) about items is a game-changer.

Conclusion

These are 4 less talked about things that I like to do to look and feel more feminine. What are some things that you like to do to keep your feminine vibes high?
